Me and Hyun Han from Parkway North. He was probably the second best person at math there, behind Song of course. Man, I've got a lot of wrinkles on my forehead.
My resident assistant, Eric Strodtman. He goes to St. Louis University. He was a pretty nice guy, but he reminded me a lot of Michael Brody (the way he looks). I never really got to talk to him all too much and our house always wanted to go to sleep instead of doing random activities at 11:00 PM. Good choice, in my opinion.
The Fourth Floor Lounge. Typical games played here were chess, risk, and trivial pursuit. These lounges were excellent because everyone hung out here during their free time and lots of hilarious events occured and lots of pizza was ordered.
Ah, Tim from Kirksville dominating the final day of Scholar Bowl competition. In case you don't recognize him, Tim is the guy who led the Kirksville JV to victory against PCH JV in the state tournament. Hyun also did really well (his head is blocked in the picture). Somehow, their team actually lost to Ted Tarkow's administration.
This is the "Mark Twain Lounge" on the ground floor and in the backround is one of the rooms of the cafeteria. This is right after dinner when people who have finished dinner already come down to play some Egyptian Ratscrew, Hearts, Spades, ERS, and chess. This place was excellent. It was a great place to talk to people youve never talked to before.
Our glorious leader, Ted Tarkow, who is a really really smart guy who is dean of something at Mizzou. He wore a different goofy hat everyday...today it looks like a hot dog or something. This picture was taken at "Big Group" where Ted announced all the days activities and the winners of different events and such.
Ake Takahashi, who teaches in the Wentzville school district. I, unfortunately, didn't take any of his classes, but I talked to him a bit and he is a really great and smart guy. He led us in Taiso, a traditional japanese exercise, every wednesday morning and showed Japanese Anime films (Akira, Spirited Away, Ghost in the Shell) every thursday. This picture of him was taken on the last night when each faculty member said something or quoted a poem and such. He said "come on baby, light my fire" and received a standing ovation.
My gorgeous bed. Most people at MSA hated the bed cause it was "too firm" or "too small." Ok, it's definitely small, but I couldn't care less because I fell asleep on it in 5 minutes or less every night. It was excellent. I had some great, energizing sleeps on this bed. And before I went, people told me that the air conditioning would be turned down to a freezing level. Yea right...I could control the temperature as I pleased. It was excellent. Oh, and yes, those are wash towels drying on the bed and the desk.
Taiso, the traditional japanese exercise that we did at 8:20 every wednesday morning. It was excellent. I think nearly everyone enjoyed it. We circled our arms and stretched to this nice little japanese tune. Ake is definetely the "taiso master."
